 I will attach a savefile showing the problem.

 When you talk to Molly Chewy says: "Was kann man hier kaufen?" If you let
 him finish speaking you don't get an answer. Only if you interrupt him by
 clicking do you hear her line. And only if you click through her line can
 you hear Chewy's answer.

 This happens with other dialogues as well. This was the first I found in
 this savefile. The pumpkin seller had it as well where it is especially
 annoying because he and Chewy have many short lines.

 Don't know if it is related but other dialogues only advance if you click.
 You can see it in this save when talking to Howard. One character finishes
 their line and you only hear the next character after clicking. Sometimes
 you have to click multiple times. This is independent of subtitle
 settings.
