Comment:

 The issue has been fixed after the 2.9.0 stable release. It only
 manifested in release builds, and not in development ones (when those were
 still using the enable-debug mode), so it was caught late.

 The relevant (now merged) PR issued by lephilousophe is here:
 https://github.com/scummvm/scummvm/pull/6369

 The fix is backported to the 2.9 branch so it would be a part of a
 possible 2.9.1 bug-fix release if there's such.

 Otherwise, it's part of the daily development builds (currently 2.10.0git)
 and those are available from our buildbot page
 (https://buildbot.scummvm.org/#/dailybuilds) under the first column
 (ScummVM latest branch master).

 Daily dev builds can be installed side by side with a stable build, as
 different apps (named differently) and each will have its own
 configuration.

 You can also test with an older APK from the stable releases, but Android
 does not support downgrading, so that would mean that you'd have to
 uninstall your current ScummVM stable, in order to install the older one.
