 Thanks for the extra info.  It looks like you're using the "Future 2.9.x"
 branch from daily builds.  Willy Beamish isn't supported in 2.9 - you
 should have received a warning about it when launching the game?

 Try a daily build from the "ScummVM latest Branch master" column on the
 buildbot.
