 I took another look at the bug, and realized that it depends on the way
 how I dealt with the snake. If I kill the snake with the sword, the game
 hangs when re-entering the office. When I catch the snake with that
 catcher-thing, then the game does not hang.
 So I did:
 1) start a new game, and end up at the scene with the snake in the office.
 2) click with the hand icon on the sword. Ripley takes the sword and kills
 the snake.
 3) wait out the long sequence where they talk about traveling to China
 etc.
 4) the moment I had player control again, I immediate re-entered the
 office
 5) game hangs
