 I'm back!

 Yes, I like your recommendation for skipping leading space characters when
 evaluating if a line is ASCII or SJIS, and limiting that space-skipping
 behavior to PQ2. Update some comments and we're good to go!

 Given that everything else is working well, and PQ2 is the unique one,
 this doesn't seem worth making big changes to our code structure.
