 Can you elaborate on what you mean by "closing the app" while the keyboard
 overlay is showing, by offering an example of steps for it?

 On mine (Android 12 and Android 16) I have launched ScummVM and from the
 launcher screen, I've changed the control mode to the "touchpad
 emulation", then brought up the keyboard with the three fingers' tap and
 hold gesture, then moved the mouse cursor over the Quit button and closed
 ScummVM. But upon re-opening ScummVM, the three fingers' tap and hold
 still works to bring up the keyboard (note: on my Android 16 device
 specifically, I have to wait for about 2 seconds before the touch
 interface becomes responsive, so I have to do the "three fingers' tap and
 hold" after that time, not earlier because it won't work.
