 Thanks for reporting this.

 It was already in my TODOs thanks to this YouTube video documenting it:
 <https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PbTU82xGy4Y>. FWIW, it also happens in
 the remaster.

 I agree that it's an original script oversight. The box does react
 strangely when this happens.

 I'll see if I can do something about it at some point.
