Comment:

 This is indeed a frankenstein, and we made a decision not so long ago to
 use a different detection system and stop supporting them, as they could
 very well be tampered with.

 My advice is just get ahold of an official untampered vanilla version from
 1996. You could get the newly remastered version on Steam, which includes
 the original game as a free bonus.

 Or if you already managed to get it running on your recompiled version
 that's okay, but we really can't support pirated copies. Thanks for being
 patient and for understanding!
