Comment (by CitricTabby):
I know it's pretty late, but I found a workaround for the volume override
bug for both Monkey Island 1 (EGA and VGA DOS) and Passport to Adventure:
Anytime you set the music device to Adlib with custom game-specific volume
levels set for the game profiles mentioned, you should remember to use
either the DOSBox or Nuked OPL Adlib emulator sets as using the default
(MAME OPL Adlib Emulator) doesn't allow for custom volume level overrides
to be honored whatsoever.
I have tested this just now with my purchased LucasArts floppy disk game
collection I got on eBay a few years back (MI1 EGA on eight 5 1/4" disks,
MI1 from the LucasArts Classic Adventures 3 1/2" disk set) as well as the
MI1 EGA demo and the Passport to Adventure demo compilation I got straight
from your site's demos page, using the current daily build (as of this
posting on Friday, September 5, 2025).
Thanks in advance for reading this, and I can now enjoy my purchased MI1
EGA game with not only DOSBox / Nuked OPL Adlib sound with respected
volume levels, but also with Amiga style EGA graphics! :D
