Comment (by tiskinalle):
I downloaded the game again from GOG. It's a bit difficult to install it
when on a Mac (I'm on a M2 mac mini), but I used Porting Kit to install it
and then copied the necessary files manually from the app package. Last
time I think I used a program that can extract Windows executables, but
that didn't work this time.
I wasn't able to replicate the game crash, but this time when restarting
the game, the serbs got stuck having dinner in the restaurant car (it's
soon 11 pm in the game and they should have left a long time ago) and you
never have the fight with Milos that's a necessary step to be able to go
to sleep which makes you progress in the game. The Boutarels were dining
at the same table with the serbs, which is an obvious glitch. I'm pretty
sure that several characters also had some unnecessary walk animations.
This time Herr Schmidt also returned to the restaurant car after he
finished dinner but thankfully went back to his compartment in the end. So
there's plenty of bugs and things are definitely not as they should be.
I am able to play the game normally if I don't get a bad ending, so my
guess is that something about the clock system that allows going back and
forth in time is broken.
