 I can confirm this with GOG English version of Police Quest 2. (I do also
 own the Steam one, but have not tested with it).

 I have also tried with ScummVM 1.8.0 and ScummVM 2.2.0, just to see if
 this was a "recent" regression, but at least as back as 1.8.0 ScummVM
 behaved the same.
