 If I reduce that to just darby-win.00, the dialog opens as normal showing
 that the 0 slot savename is showing as "( " or visually similar. If I add
 any other savegames, this triggers the bug.

 I think the issue is that the darby savegame naming format in the files is
 using braces i.e. () and these may be special characters in the list
 widget for formatting hence you get a conflict.
