 I added 6 photos of the jewel case, CD and booklet with details:
 Riven1-6*.jpg.
 Release 1997, main number on leaflets, booklet and CD's: RBB7017.
 Looks like an English (VS/UK?) version, doesn't seem a special edition.

 - Testing with daily build gave same error.
 - Renaming "a_Data.MHK" to "a_Data.mhk" gave the same error.
 - With a clean configuration file: same error.
 _ I can run Myst and Myst: Exile seemingly without any problem. Can add
 and play newly installed freeware.

 Hope this will give a clue....
