Comment:

 OK, thank you. (It took a bit of time to look into this, as was away from
 my PowerPC machines around Christmas.)

 So I can't reproduce the crashes with my PPC boxes (with their CPU a bit
 similar to the PS3 one). On the other hand, I do observe weird behavior,
 such as the main character becoming... fully invisible once you give that
 army photo? (see attached screenshot).

 (This was on the `branch-3-0` Git branch.)

 So, one hypothesis I have is that improper values are being read on big-
 endian hosts, leading to random results. And so it looks more like an
 engine bug, instead of a bug in the PS3 backend itself.

 So I'm moving this ticket to the 'M4' namespace.
