New description:
Found a problem with Myst 3 Exile that I think was also reported years ago
on Steam but not fixed
Something about the way the audio works in this game is about running a
series of "Pad" files" in sequence. This was no issue in the original
DVD/CD versions, but in my ScummVM version, some of those files do not
play at all.
Music and dialogue functions as normal.
Test versions:
- 2.9.0 (Default GOG.com executable)
- 3.1.0 (1/17/26 daily build)
To reproduce bug: Use provided "SPIDER SPINNER" save file and raise
control panel at "Spider Spinner" puzzle. Noises from vibration gates
should be playing, but are not. This is crucial to the puzzle, as 5 blue
buttons on the panel are meant to mute one of the rings (depending on
which is set to which)
Last version without the bug: Pre-migration to ScummVM (GOG Exile version
1.0), and/or physical CD/DVD format.
Unknown when bug first started before today.
OS: Windows 10 22H2, build 19045.6809
Additional reference points:
- Dilandau3000's LetsPlay using vanilla DVD version, showing sounds
playing as intended: [https://youtu.be/P3ZsFuZOCqw?list=PLjjNZRzFam-

- Unanswered Steam Community article with same bug:

Suggested High priority, given puzzle requirement.

Comment (by Agent-G245):
1) Corrected reference links in descriptions.
2) Save files have proper descriptions now - apologies for multiple edits.
