 This one is a bit hard to put into words, but if you trigger the proximity
 mine near the beginning of the game the explosion is drawn in such a way
 that it's pretty obvious that it's just a square image being drawn on top
 of the background. At least for some of the frames. Here's one I managed
 to catch:
