 I was curious about this bug: I tried to replicate it with the CD/Talkie
 version and the points are awarded (4 points) in both cases (stick or
 shoe).

 I also cross-referenced Sluicebox's decompiled code and it looks like,
 spot checking the english games for rm006 where this cat/mouse event
 occurs, the code seems to properly award 4 points in both cases.

 Can you find out specifically which version you are running? Maybe provide
 the md5 hashes of your game files.

 If anything, I hope this at least gets us closer to a resolution!
