 I did remember an original script bug at least in the German C64 version
 of Maniac Mansion and was able to replicate it here. It's a severe one,
 short-circuiting the plot.

 Intended behavior is when calling the Meteor Police, that the officer will
 only drop his badge if the doors to the lab are open and he can arrest the
 meteor. However, in the German C64 version, he ''always'' drops his badge,
 even if the door is closed.

 That this clearly  IS a bug as shown by the fact that in V2 they did fix
 it to work as intended. I have no idea if the other languages or V1
 versions (DOS, Apple II) are affected, others have to check that.

 V1 should work the same as V2 therefore (only drop badge if arrest
 happens).

 Attached are a save where you only have to call the police and then have
 to wait for them to come, as well as a screenshot showing the badge having
 been dropped despite the lab door still being closed.
