Hmm, I only see a news item were he points out that 0.1.0 was release
on January 15th many years ago. But no release announcement. Maybe I
am missing something?
Even if he had done so, it's very easy to miss a news item on our
page. I guess I am not the only one who only rarely surfs to our
homepage. I usually only learn about news items by the corresponding
commit mails.
So, such an indirect release announcement would hardly be sufficient.
Which is why it's so good you are always posting these detailed
release plan announcements to scummvm-devel, which I find absolutely
great! The only thing I'd wish for was that the release plan was
posted like 2 months before its start, instead of 2 days ;).

That's not a particular good argument in my eyes. Now, if we decided
to make it official policy that we release every (early) January and
(early) July, then OK -- then it would have been predictable for all
devs that we are going to release. Alas, we haven't done so. Maybe we
should?

Which is insufficient, as it exclude the majority of our developers
from the discussion.
