Why would we not keep it around? We also keep the "outdated" branches for
all previous ScummVM releases around. In fact, one of the main reasons to
use a version control system is so that you can still get hold of
"outdated" branches, releases etc. Which is important e.g. for regression
testing, and also to see the commit history / follow the developmement of
those branches, in order to analyze bugs, regressions, etc.

In short: We would not gain anything by removing it, or any other branch.
But we would loose easy accessibility to it.
