Duh, yeah. Let me restate / rephrase my original question, as  
apparently it wasn't clear enough: If we keep F5 or F6 as activator  
for the GMM, we have the problem that this conflicts with some games.  
Bad. Hence, we must do something about it. Here some ideas, and I am  
open to others (so far I heard none, sadly).

1) We can find a *different* hotkey which conflicts with no engine.  
Seems difficult, and with any new engine, could easily become invalid  
again.

2) We allow select engines to change/override the hotkey.

3) We force engines which conflict with the hotkey (say which want to  
use F5) to remap their F5 to an alternate button, e.g. Alt-F5

4) We allow the user to remap the hotkey arbitrarily. Problematic  
because we'd need new code for that (a key remapper -- ah, if the  
vkeybd branch was merged...).
