hi everybody!
I have just debugged the last problem I had found when playing the Dragon
History until the very end. the game is completable with no known glitches.
I believe the game engine to be stable now with the only remaining TODO's
asking for more clean-ups or documentation. I have tested it on both
PowerPC and Intel Macs, on 32-bit and 64-bit machines, and on OS X versions
10.{4,5,6}, and also a little bit on a 64-bit Linux machine with ValGrind.
it always works great. I have therefore enabled the engine in the default
configuration.
anybody willing to test the game is welcome. the game files can be
downloaded at http://www.ucw.cz/draci-historie/index-en.html#download the
walkthrough is at
http://www.ucw.cz/draci-historie/manual/walkthrough.htmland the
ScummVM savegames along the whole walkthrough can be downloaded at
http://www.ucw.cz/draci-historie/manual/draci-savegames-en.zip
I don't know whether I should write somewhere the instructions for playing
the game and, if yes, where to. the main things to remember are that you
have to use both mouse keys, where left is explore, and right is use. also
to get to the inventory, either press 'i' or go with the mouse to the top,
and to get to the map, either press 'm' or go with the mouse to the bottom.
also, Escape skips the intro or exits from the map/inventory, and a mouse
click skips the currently played dubbed sentence.
there are some more things for useful debugging, such as 'q' enables quick
walking of the hero, 'w' displays the map of the walkable area and the
currently walked path, and left/right arrows switch to the previous/next
location according to some absolute ordering (but it only works if the debug
level is at least 0, to avoid surprises for normal users when accidentally
pressed).
does anybody have an idea when will the next release of ScummVM happen? are
we going to ship Dragon History out at 1.1 or is 1.0.1 good enough? I would
prefer shipping it ASAP.
best,
--
