These should be fixed in svn now.

Hmmm, I'll have to look into this.  Sounds like the sub-process that is 
spawned to run lame doesn't inherit PATH.

Doesn't sound too hard.  I'll investigate.

These are probably genuine bugs.  Sadly we couldn't motivate the student 
to thoroughly test his changes, and as seems to pretty much always be 
the case with our GSoC students; they vanish completely after the 
deadline... very frustrating.

These all sound like good and doable enhancements/changes, and we should 
make these changes at some point, but at the moment my primary concern 
is fixing the apparently many regressions, and getting the tools working 
properly /at all/!
