[Scummvm-devel] Migration to GIT?

Hiya,
before this dies off once more... Is anybody here willing to coordinate the transition of at least some of our less frequently used modules to git? Based on the work Eugene already did (he collected author names into a file, created a svn2git config file etc., and posted them here).
(That authors file should be reviewed once more, I guess).
My idea would be to start with the tools dir. Convert it using svn2git or some other tools (see also e.g. http://john.albin.net/git/convert-subversion-to-git, for doing a conversion using git-svn). Make sure to adapt svn:ignore into a .gitignore file. etc.
Then, let's post a "beta" version of the archive somewhere (e.g. on github). Give people a few days to look through it. If there are problems, we are still free to rewrite history in an incompatible fashion.
Finally, make this the new official tools repository, and deprecate the SVN tools repository.
My hope is that we can do this relatively quickly, and then also do it for all other SVN modules except for the primary "scummvm" module. That one is most work, but based on the experience from converting the other modules, it should be doable.
Any volunteers? Any? Pretty please with sugar atop? Maybe as a christmas present for the team :).
Cheers,
Max
