[Scummvm-devel] making an Android package with game files for ScummVM

hi all, after a long period of inactivity,
I have checked the ScummVM page and realized that 1.2.1 works on my newest
Android phone, without hacking and using the unofficial version. great!
thank you all for great work and sorry that I wasn't (and still am not)
able to provide any help due to my time constraints.
I have found out that
(1) ScummVM cannot be downloaded from the Android Market, or at least search
for ScummVM only seems to offer plug-ins for concrete games. is this
intentional?
(2) there are many plug-ins on the Android Market for concrete games, but
none for Dragon History. I am not sure if these games were full versions of
free games or just game engines (since I didn't try them), but my impression
is that at least the freely available games should be available for simple
download and install without any required hacking, directly from the Market
as a free application. I tried to install Dragon History manually and it
was a 10-minute pain process of downloading and unzipping 2 game archives
(core game + dubbing), moving files around, and even renaming some one of
them, until I could play the game including the dubbing.
I'd love to prepare such a package myself. all I'm asking for, does anybody
have experience with that and could point me in the right direction? with a
1-year old son, I don't feel like spending 5+ hours of research first so
that I can then write a simple packaging script in another 10 minutes. if
someone already has an example package I could just start with and modify it
to my needs, that would be a great boost. in particular, I'm interested in
how to register a game in ScummVM as opposed to just unzipping a game
archive somewhere on the SD card and then requiring from the user that
he/she has to manually click Add Game in ScummVM.
thank you!
p.s. thanks for the started transition to GIT! looking forward to when it's
finished :-)
