[Scummvm-devel] Including README translations

Hi folks,

Kirben: I'm very happy that you are still signed to devel, reading and even participating sometimes in discussions like this one.

I agree with Kirben that support for Windows 95/98 etc. should be retainted as long as it isn't too much work.

Now that Julien made the hope that he might fix the problem by checking API capabilities on the start, I got another idea how we might solve the problem of files not being correctly displayed:
We might simply add a note at the beginning of the translated readme files that Windows users - if they see the text wrongly displayed - should open the file in WordPad. Problem solved. We would just need the BOM header.

Now I need to wait for Filippos to point out the problems that other operating systems and programmes have with that header. If the problems are only with OS'es other than Windows, then we could add the BOM header for Windows only.
