Hi team,
It's been (almost) a week since we announced the current stable release, so
the delay we wanted to respect is almost expired. It's therefore a good
moment to make a little summary of what will be coming next.
In the master, the following engines are waiting silently: (in no
particular order)
- Composer: Fuzzie has reached a point where all v1 and v2 games should be
supported. She's waiting to announce it, as she now needs the missing MD5s
from localized versions, as well as testers. A list of games may be found
on the wiki: http://wiki.scummvm.org/index.php/Composer
- CGE: Dreammaster and I worked on the sources provided by LK Avalon.
nutron, Digitall and Thomas Jannes worked on polishing the English
translation. I also added manually some accentuated characters to the font
file, just in case some people want to do translations for other languages
in the future.. criezy started a translation to French. As LK Avalon has
given us the green light for freewaring the game, I discretely uploaded the
game data files here:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/scummvm/files/extras/, and links will
be added to our download page when the test period is
announced.
- TsAGE: Dreammaster and I worked on Blue Force. The game is completable,
and we now need testers not using the walkthrough in order to hunt down any
remaining bugs.
- Dreamweb is currently completable and stable. Tramboi is currently
working on rewriting the remaining functions from pseudo-asm to C++, but he
wants to announce a test period in order to see if any other versions
require specific engine modifications.
- Additionally, JohnDoe's Picture engine is also mature enough, after some
polishing done by [md5]. A pull request is currently being analyzed by the
core team, and testers may be needed soon.
- James Woodcock will announce soon, as part of his ScummVM Music
Enhancement Project, the availability of the recently finished Beneath a
Steel Sky enhanced music.
Last, but not least, Criezy is working on a WikiMedia update improving user
experience on our wiki. The announcement will follow, of course.
As you see, the next few weeks will be rich in announcements. We'll try to
keep a delay between each in order to get the most of them.
Any suggestions about priorities or additional announcement suggestions are
welcome!
Best regards,
Arnaud
