Comment:

 Thanks for your report. I am guessing that by "normal way", you mean using
 the "End the journey" picture in the game menu screen?

 That one did return to the launcher, but then it was quitting ScummVM
 immediately, so the launcher only appears on screen for a very short time.
 I have just fixed that issue.

 I am assuming this fixes your issue as the "Always Return to Launcher"
 option now works properly for me whatever the way I close ScummVM. But
 feel free to reopen if I misunderstood your issue and it still exists.
