 The suggested workaround should be available in the nightly release for
 the "ScummVM stable Future 2.8.x" builds here:
 https://buildbot.scummvm.org/#/dailybuilds

 Would you mind verifying that it works?

 We will need a proper fix long term, but if this works for now we can at
 least downgrade the severity of this issue for the upcoming release.
