New description:

 **ScummVM version:** ScummVM 2.9.1 (May 24 2025 04:22:07)
 **Bug details:** Game reverts back to Chapter from initial play session.

 I tried two separate play sessions;

 PLAY SESSION 1 (PS1): I reached Chapter 2 and saved and quit.
 PLAY SESSION 2 (PS2): I reached Chapter 4 and saved and quit.

 Both of these were through the game's main menu, which quit out of
 ScummVM.

 I rebooted ScummVM, and played each game to further chapters, and saved
 and quit (PS1 was to Chapter 4, and PS2 was to Chapter 6).  I saved and
 quit properly.  When I rebooted ScummVM and then tried to load each save,
 it reverted to the earlier chapters for each save (Chapter 2 for PS1, and
 Chapter 4 for PS2).

 **Version of game:** Windows CD - GOG Download version.
 **Your OS, including version and device if appropriate:** Windows 11 Home,
 version 24H2

 **EDIT TO UPDATE 5TH OCTOBER 2025:** I have now experienced the same issue
 with two save files, so this was not a one-off.  The bug can be replicated
 by playing the game from the start, saving when you reach a later chapter,
 quitting ScummVM entirely, reopening the game, playing to a later chapter,
 saving and quitting, then reloading ScummVM and attempting to load the
 save file.
