Comment:

 With the recent merging of https://github.com/scummvm/scummvm/pull/7346,
 the Widescreen Mod no longer creates a widescreen window in windowed mode.

 While this solution isn't ideal, it does resolve the issue that is the
 subject of this report.

 I'm closing this on the basis that this particular issue is fixed.
