 Hello,
 I am experiencing a problem with the display of Russian subtitles in Nancy
 Drew: The Haunted Carousel (Nancy Drew #8) when running the game through
 ScummVM on a MacBook Air with an Apple M1 processor.
 ScummVM version: 2026.3.0
Platform: macOS / Apple Silicon (M1)
Game
 version: Russian Windows version, published by Novy Disk («Новый Диск»).
 The game is successfully detected and launched by ScummVM. The main menu
 is displayed correctly in Russian, and the game itself runs normally.
 However, dialogue text and subtitles are displayed incorrectly. Instead of
 Cyrillic characters, I see characters resulting from incorrect character
 encoding (typical mojibake). For example:
 Àõçüö ñöåðÀöäÀ?ä Öä ïîäïîëåíå ääöö ...
 So the problem appears to be specifically related to the
 rendering/encoding of Russian text during dialogue. The game graphics,
 audio, and general gameplay work correctly.
 The game is detected by ScummVM with the following settings:
 * ID: Nancy 8-ru
 * Name: Nancy Drew: The Haunted Carousel (Windows) | Russian
 * Language: Russian
 * Platform: Windows
 I checked the ScummVM game settings. The language is already set to
 Russian, and there is no separate option available for text encoding,
 font, or code page.
 I also checked the game's files. The Game.ini file does not contain any
 language or text-encoding settings. The original debug.LOG shows that the
 game initializes and runs successfully, without any obvious errors related
 to text or localization.
 As I understand it, support for Nancy Drew: The Haunted Carousel was added
 to ScummVM relatively recently, starting with version 2026.3.0.
 Could you please let me know:
 Is this a known issue with Cyrillic/Russian subtitle rendering in Nancy
 Drew: The Haunted Carousel (Nancy 8-ru)? Is there a fix or a recommended
 workaround?
 If this is a known ScummVM engine issue, I can provide additional
