[Scummvm-devel] Migration to GIT?

Hi,

I am all for executing a migration to git, and now seems to be a good time, as we already have 1.2.0 out of the door, and 1.2.1 can still be done from the SVN branch, no matter what we do about git.

One thing to settle is where to host the master repository: I for once would like using github, due to the many nice features it offers, like very easy code review. (FYI, I registered a scummvm project account there some time ago, in case we want to use it, and to prevent others from (ab)using it).
Some of our devs already use github for their own ScummVM trees, and since github makes it super-easy for anybody to branch from another user's tree, and then push changes back (resp. file a "pull request)", this seems ideal to me.

The alternative would be to use SF.net for this. I see little benefit in that, however.

Other alternatives, anybody?

The other point might be the development model to use, but I am little concerned about this.

Bye,
Max
