Well, I haven't seen anybody pushing towards a solution of this. Maybe file a bug report / feature request / add an entry to our TODO, else this might be forgotten forever (it still might, anyhow).
Or feel free to resume the push towards a proper solution. The team had various discussions on this in the past, didn't we? Maybe on IRC or even here?
