I agree that this is a good idea for games like Myst 3 that have additional
effects and utilize the graphics card heavily, as Bastien explained.

The ring games (including Cryo games and Arxel Tribe games) are basically a
"no 3D cheat", in which screen scrolling is done so that it resembles a 3D
environment (by using a simple pixel projection algorithm). Basically, they
are static first person view games, like Myst, Riven, The Return to Zork
and The 7th Guest, with an added screen scroll effect.

There are no additional technical requirements to include them in ScummVM.
So, since we do have first person view games that don't use 3D, I don't see
why we can't include these specific ones, where no additional 3D is
involved. So, in my opinion, these games are more fitting for ScummVM than
ResidualVM. ResidualVM is more fitting for real 3D games, like Gabriel
Knight 3, Syberia, Normality, Discworld Noir, the 3D Text Murphy games...
there are so many REAL 3D games that will benefit from the 3D
functionality, so I don't see why games with a clever scrolling effect
would fit in there.
