 Hi Sluicebox

 Thank you for getting back to me so quickly - I am glad that you were able
 to replicate the issue as I had tried completely uninstalling the game and
 reinstalling to see if it was that installation, so subsequently lost all
 of that data.  Strangely enough, when I did reinstall, the original save
 files showed even though I had fully deleted them and uninstalled the
 game, but then when I loaded one and quit back out, both files
 disappeared.  I subsequently started yet another new one which I then got
 to Chapter 6, so I could finish my game, this being the only save file I
 kept.

 I did also notice when I finally completed the game, the option to load an
 old save file was still there, and when I clicked it, the game crashed and
 a ScummVM error log popped up.  From what I've read about Phantasmagoria's
 save files, the file effectively deletes itself when it's completed (and
 the extra option shows on the title screen), so I assume the error is
 because it's trying to access a screen with no data in (i.e. no save
 files).  I am happy to reinstall and try to get that log for you if that
 would also help, else log another ticket if that's more appropriate.

 I was also interested to read that the problematic saves occur at chapter
 breaks; when I was quitting the game, it was at chapter breaks every time.
 I had, however, been saving frequently throughout the chapters I was
 playing, in the hope that it would at least load from that point.  I'm
 assuming that the problem save at chapter end overwrites any in-chapter
 saves I made, which is why none of that helped at all.

 Thank you so much for taking the time to look into this issue, and
 hopefully it is something that can be fixed.
